Undergraduate Scholarships
The College of Engineering
awards over $400,000 to its students each year in academic scholarships. Scholarships are
designated for either current students or for recruiting of new students.
New Freshmen:

The Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (WISE)
WISE
is held in November of
each year for the following academic year. The next competition
will be held Friday,
November 4, 2005.
About 20 scholarships are given to entering freshman for four years of study:
Wallace Scholarships at
$15,000
Boeing Scholarships at $12,000
Cessna Scholarships at
$10,000
Olive Ann Beech Scholarships
at $10,000
Walter H. Beech Scholarships
in Aerospace at $4,000
High school seniors interested
in competing must complete an application after the following:
Be admitted to WSU
Submit an official high
school transcript with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Have ACT scores submitted to
WSU
Declare
a major in
Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or
Mechanical Engineering.
Females competing in
WISE who have an ACT score of 26 or above (math and composite)
receive a minimum $1,000 Boeing Scholarship that may be renewable
for three additional years.

SAE Scholarship—One
$1,500 scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman. The award may be
renewable for three additional years. Selection is based on academic and
leadership achievement. This scholarship is not part of the WISE
competition. High school seniors can find the application and other
information online at

SWE
Scholarships—Each
year, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) awards more than 100
scholarships, from $1,000 to $5,000, to full-time students pursuing
undergraduate or graduate degrees in accredited engineering programs,
such as WSU’s.
These scholarships are not part of the WISE competition.

NASA Science and Technology
Scholarship Program—Congress
has recently approved the establishment of the NASA Science and
Technology Scholarship Program. It is anticipated that this scholarship
will provide full tuition leading up to a 4 year degree in Science,
Mathematics, Engineering or Technology. Initial applications for this
program may be taken during the summer of 2004. If you would like an
email notification as soon as application information is available
please complete the form located at

Current and Transfer
Undergraduate Students:
Applications are accepted year round. On February 1 of each year,
selections are made for the next academic
year. There is a requirement of 3.0 GPA and to be making good progress toward an
engineering degree. Different scholarships may have some specific qualifications such as a
specific major, completion of a number of hours, citizenship, etc. Students'
qualifications are matched to the appropriate scholarships for final section of awards.
