At Wichita State, engineering students are able to keep up with their fields' latest developments. Engineering faculty direct research and development programs which involve undergraduate as well as graduate students in local and nationally sponsored projects, an effort which has received wide recognition. The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) conducts research projects for government and industry, and provides access to research facilities by engineering faculty and students.
Crash Dynamics

The College of Engineering at Wichita State is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. Students are required to take laboratory-oriented courses in their programs of study.

A new Undergraduate Research Experience program is being offered to provide an opportunity for undergraduate junior and senior engineering students to participate in active research in advanced composites for aviation industry.
