Student Achievement Awards

 

Senior with Highest GPA Award---Marcus Johnson

Marcus has a cumulative university as well as engineering GPA of 4.0, the highest among all graduating seniors.

 

 Undergraduate Excellence Award---Holly Haynes

Holly was selected as one of the national recipients of the 2005 Goldwater Scholarship Awards.  The Goldwater Scholars are selected on the basis of academic merit from a field of over 1000 science and engineering student applicants nominated by universities nationwide.  Holly is the only Goldwater Scholar selected from Wichita State University this year. Holly’s career goal is to receive a PhD degree in alternative energy.

 

Outstanding Student Activity Award---Mini Baja Team

The team competed in two of the three national competitions held in the US (West and Midwest).  The team placed second in the 2004 West Competitions, in Portland Oregon, among over 99 teams. The team competed in the several dynamic events as well as presentation of a complete design report.
