| The
College of Engineering at Wichita State affords excellent career preparation for future
engineers. In fact, Wichita State is an excellent career location for students because it is in the
City of Wichita - Kansas' largest business and
industrial center - and is situated within 50 miles of 40 percent of Kansas' industry. Wichita, one of the world's largest
producers of aircraft through Boeing, Raytheon, Cessna,
and Learjet, is known as the "Air Capital of
the World." This impressive career base does more than demand a high level of
engineering expertise - it also provides the hands-on experience essential for developing
crucial engineering skills. The University's
Office of Career
Services provides career counseling, vocational assessment, job
postings, resume critiques, practice interviews, resume referral, career
fairs, on-campus interviews, and job search information and coaching.
All services are free to WSU students. |

The College of
Engineering also participates in the
University's
Cooperative Education program, which helps students find employment opportunities
related to their academic areas of interest. Through this unique combination of classroom
studies and work experience, students gain valuable career-related experience. |
